It’s the holiday season, which means many of us will be hopping on a plane to jet off on vacation. While this is something to celebrate, you might be slightly stressed out about packing. After all, how are you supposed to fit all of the makeup you need in a carryon? The key to your travel makeup bag is minimalism. By packing only the essentials, you can look gorgeous without lugging your entire makeup collection around with you. In this blog, we will go over the absolute must-haves for your travel makeup bag.

Sunscreen

While this is most important if you are headed to the beach, it’s important to apply sunscreen anytime you’re going to be in the sun. Choose a formulation with a minimum of SPF 30 for best protection. Prioritize sunscreen now and you’ll thank us later when your skin is soft, smooth, and nothing like a leather handbag.

Eyeshadow sticks

You may have experienced this nightmare scenario before: you pack your favorite eyeshadow pallette for vacay, only to find when you open it that your powder eyeshadow has been smashed to pieces. You can avoid this problem by packing eyeshadow sticks instead. As an added bonus, they are super easy to use, so you don’t have to spend too much of your vacation dolling up and you can still look gorgeous for the Facebook photos.

BB cream

Particularly if you are headed to warmer weather (lucky you!), you want face makeup that won’t be cakey but will provide you with protection from the sun. A BB cream offers a light amount of moisturizing coverage with SPF, so while you’re out soaking up the rays, you can rest assured that your face is protected from harmful UV rays.

Blush + Glo

Whether blush, luminizer, or both are essential to your makeup routine, the easiest way to pack them both and save space is with our Blush + Glo blush. This two-in-one makeup product gives you a gorgeous, dewy glow and takes seconds to apply. It’s perfect for looking great on your vacation without a ton of effort.

Mascara

This might seem like a big “duh” for any makeup lover, but imagine being stranded without your go-to volumizing Hi-Def Mascara. Before you head through security, make sure that you have packed Hi-Def Mascara in your carry-on. On the days you are too relaxed to bother with too much makeup, a few swipes of mascara will be sufficient to make your eyes pop.

Nude lip gloss

When you’re traveling, you might be tempted to pack a bunch of different lip colors. After all, who knows which one you will want? However, chances are, you aren’t going to wear all 20 shades of lip color that you pack. Keep it simple by including a nude lip gloss, like our light-up Lip Gloss in Nudist, that will go with anything. You might also include a Lip Cream in Really Red for a bold pop of color when you hit the town; however, keep it simple with only two or three lippies maximum.

At Beauty For Real, all of our makeup is designed to be easy to use on the go. Shop our collection of makeup essentials for your next vacation today!
